Softball Goes 1-1 Day Two of Crossover
Day two of crossover sees a split versus East Region foes.
In game one of day two at the NWAC crossover tournament Chemeketa hosted Treasure Valley and walked away with a decisive 14-6 victory.
Chemeketa set the tone early, scoring two runs in the first inning, which Treasure Valley attempted to counter with a single run. However, Chemeketa's explosive second and third innings, scoring four runs each, widened the gap significantly.
By the time the fifth inning came around, Chemeketa had amassed a commanding lead with 13 runs. Treasure Valley managed to score three more runs in the final inning, but it was not enough to close the deficit, resulting in Chemeketa's 14-6 victory.
Chemeketa's offensive efforts were spearheaded by C. Weaving, who hit two home runs and contributed two RBIs. A. Cavazos also made a notable impact with a home run and two RBIs. R. Shumaker's performance was another highlight, with a home run and two RBIs, showing Chemeketa's depth at the plate.
On the mound, J. Rule pitching the full 5.0 innings, Rule scattered seven hits, while striking out 11 Treasure Valley batters.
In game two on the day the Storm faced off against Wenatchee Valley, resulting in a 10-4 loss.
The game began with both teams scoring two runs in the first inning, setting an early competitive tone. Chemeketa managed to add another run in the third inning, but it was the second inning that proved pivotal. Wenatchee Valley surged ahead, scoring five runs, taking a strong lead that Chemeketa couldn't overcome. Despite Chemeketa's rally in the sixth inning, Wenatchee Valley sealed their victory with two additional runs in the same inning.

Wenatchee Valley's E. Bishop was instrumental to their victory, with a standout performance of four hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs. The effective pitching from B. Reedy, who recorded seven strikeouts while allowing only three earned runs, further bolstered their win.
For the Storm, Mcka. Dodge and J. Rule delivered home runs, sparking moments of hope for their team. L. DeLoe also displayed resilience, collecting four hits and contributing an RBI. Chemeketa's pitcher, L. DeLoe, went the distance facing the opportunistic bats of the Knights.
On the day the Storm had bright spots but weren't able to maintain their consistency throughtout the day earning a split for the day and went 2-2 fro the weekend tournament.
