Dear Alum,

First thank you for checking out the new website and clicking on this button. We are excited about the
website change and the new opportunities it will bring. One of which is an easier way to communicate
with you all, the foundation on which Chemeketa Athletics has been built. As the current Athletic
Director and a member of this department for 32 years. It was one of my goals to make the past and the
present of this great department more whole.
Chemeketa Athletics is in it’s 55 th season, something you all have been a part of if your reading this. The
full and rich tradition has been built on the experiences of you the former Chemeketa student athletes.
From its inception in 1970 through 1998, those of you who left your blood, sweat, and tears on our
hallowed grounds competed as the Chemeketa Chief’s, and as I have heard time and time again you did
that with pride. At the start of the 1998 year a change was made and we became the Chemeketa Storm.
So, for the past 26 years you all have left that same level of dedication with the same level of pride.
Whether you were a Chief or a Storm you and your successes and struggles are the fabric of who we are,
what we do, and who we represent now and each year moving forward. Our dream is to create a bridge
from the past to the present and establish an environment where our past better helps us build our
future. We are hoping to create opportunities, for those who are interested, to help our current student
athletes to better understand the totality of what they are truly representing when they put on a
Chemeketa uniform.

From that point forward, you will determine your level of involvement in our bridge building project. We have plans for
many types of ways to support which we will unveil to you soon. With that the first opportunity is to
become a member of this Chemeketa Athletics Alumni Group.
